Translation text and optional context
When you request a translation, AI Translator sends the text you enter or select, or eligible text from a webpage when you start Pro page translation, to its translation backend. The backend forwards a translation prompt to the BALUBENKO AI service, which uses OpenAI. Requested source and target languages, text segments, translation mode and tone are included. During an active page session, newly appearing eligible text is also processed.
In the default selection-icon mode, selecting text alone does not send it: click the translation icon to request the result. The optional instant-selection mode sends selected text automatically when enabled. Pro page context is a separate opt-in setting. When enabled, up to 2,000 characters of visible surrounding text from the current page may be sent with a translation to help preserve context.
The context collector excludes input fields, passwords, editable controls, hidden text and HTML. Page translation also skips code blocks and the extension's own interface. The extension does not send full page HTML, site cookies, saved passwords or a list of visited URLs to the translation backend. Visible text and text you paste can still contain personal or confidential information; request processing only for content you are entitled to share with the providers described here.
Website access and local browser activity
Website access makes the selection icon available on ordinary HTTP and HTTPS pages and lets an active Pro session translate, observe new text and restore the original. The extension reads current tab and frame information locally to target these actions and stop jobs when documents change. It does not use that access to build a server-side browsing-history profile. Original text needed for restoration remains in page memory and is discarded when that page closes.
Google sign-in and account information
Chrome Identity and Firebase Authentication handle Google sign-in. Account identifiers, name, email and profile image when supplied support authentication, the account display and account-linked access. Authentication credentials are kept in the extension's trusted context and are not shared with webpages being translated. Sign-out clears the active authentication session; Firebase Authentication retains account records to support future sign-in.
The translation service stores usage counters, quota reservations, job state and subscription or administrative access information tied to your account identifier. Free includes 100,000 source characters per UTC calendar month, with up to 4,000 per translation. Pro includes 2,000,000 per monthly subscription window, with up to 50,000 per translation. Unicode source characters, including spaces, count toward the allowance; unused allowance does not roll over.
Subscriptions and Stripe payments
Upgrade and subscription-management actions open the BALUBENKO billing website. Use the same Google account there to associate a purchase with your translation account. Pro costs US$4.99 per month or US$39.99 per year and renews automatically until cancelled. Annual billing provides a monthly character allowance, not all annual usage at once. Cancelling renewal keeps access through the already paid period; the Terms explain payment and refund conditions.
The billing service processes your account identifier and email, chosen plan and price, currency, customer, subscription, invoice and payment identifiers, paid periods, delivery status, and refund or dispute status. Stripe processes card and payment information under Stripe's privacy policy. Card details are not sent to the extension or translation API. Payment links do not contain Firebase authentication tokens. Purchase and payment records, including historical records, persist separately from translation-job expiry for accounting, access reconciliation and support; contact the developer for account or data requests.
Local history and extension storage
Language, theme, selection, tone and context preferences are stored locally in Chrome. Session storage holds recoverable popup drafts, pending requests and active translation-job state. Completed translation history is stored in the extension's IndexedDB on this device, separated by account and billing environment, without cloud synchronization.
History retains at most 1,000 entries or 25 MiB, removing the oldest entries when needed. Free shows the latest 20 entries; Pro provides access to up to 1,000. You can delete individual entries, clear history or disable recording. Downgrading alone does not delete older entries, and signing out keeps the local history for that account. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage.
An optional review request uses a device-local counter of up to five unique completed job identifiers, dismissal count and next eligible time. It stores no translation text. It is isolated by billing environment and is not sent as review analytics. The first dismissal postpones the request for fourteen days; the second dismissal or opening the Store review page stops further requests. A local flag prevents the welcome page from reopening after initial installation.
Server storage and retention
Server-side jobs temporarily store submitted text, optional context and translation results in Firestore. Records are marked for automatic expiration after 24 hours; actual deletion follows Firestore TTL processing and may occur later. Usage counters contain counts rather than page text or page URLs. Account, subscription, payment and administrative-access records are retained independently of job expiry to provide sign-in, paid access, accounting and support.
Operational logs are designed to contain fixed event names, counts and numeric timing information rather than translation text or authentication credentials. Hosting and service providers may process technical connection information needed to operate their services. Previously created private image-job records, where applicable, retain their existing owner-access expiry and asynchronous storage-cleanup rules; the current extension does not expose image requests.
AI and infrastructure providers
Translation requests are sent over HTTPS. OpenAI text-generation requests use store: false; this is not a guarantee of zero provider retention. Provider processing and retention are governed by OpenAI's policy. Google/Firebase supplies authentication, hosting, database and queue infrastructure under Google's privacy policy. BALUBENKO provides the translation gateway and subscription billing needed for this service.
Use of data and Limited Use
AI Translator uses information to provide and support translation, authenticate access, enforce allowances, maintain local history, verify paid access, reconcile payments and operate the service. Its use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Transfers to service providers are limited to the translation, authentication, payment and operational functions described here.
AI Translator does not sell user data, use or transfer it for personalized advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. It does not use page content or browser activity for unrelated advertising or profiling.
Your controls and contact
You can stop page translation, restore original text, disable selection translation or page context, manage local history, sign out or uninstall. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription or delete server-side account and payment records. Manage renewal through the billing portal. For privacy, account or deletion requests, contact balubenko.ink@gmail.com. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens, full payment-card details or confidential page text in a support message. Updates to this policy will be published on this page.
